Harbor Island + Portra 125

Dec. 29th 2016 - Woke up one minute before the alarm clock. How does that happen? Caught a ride from Christopher, a Fasten driver wearing black rimmed glasses whose endless jokes would have probably hit home if it wasn't 6:05 am. Kate drooled a bit on her window. Felt like Vince Vaughn in 4 Christmases shivering in beach wear while trying to check in outside at a frigid Austin Bergstrom International Airport. Connected through Atlanta where I got a bloody mary and Kate got a mimosa while admiring the self-playing piano. Customs in Nassau included a 3-piece band playing Could You Be Loved, a gregarious pirate in full garb, and 360º of advertisements for Atlantis. Shuttled to the local airport where Lindie, a local Bahamian and pilot, fired up the hopper. He spoke English but not the kind we could understand. 22 minutes later he pushed the nose of the prop downward through the clouds and dove into North Eleuthera. From there it was one ground taxi and one water taxi to Harbour Island, just in time for sunset.
